Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol," a holiday classic, will set the tone for an evening of merriment at the first-ever "Dickens Holiday Festival" on Friday, Dec. 16, at the namesake Dickens Commons in Lincoln Park, 2200 N. Lincoln Ave.
The festivities—presented by the Lincoln Central Association—run from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. and will include carolers, strolling minstrels, magicians, and actors from the Goodman Theatre who will be re-enacting scenes from the Christmas classic in character. There will also be food, seasonal libations and a special guest appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus.
