Teachers On Call, a tutoring and educational company in Chicagoland and northwest Indiana, supplies only tutors who are experienced and certified teachers. They offer tutoring services for all academic subjects and all grade levels (k-12), as well as help with organizational and study skills, and test preparation for the new SAT.
The mission of Teachers On Call is to provide affordable and professional tutoring services using the highest quality teachers in a one-on-one, in-home learning environment that supports the local School District’s curriculum.
Founder George Chapas, a graduate of Indiana State University, was an elementary teacher for five years. At Northern Illinois University, he received a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Chapas has spent the last 30 years working as an educational consultant for the nation’s top educational publishers, assisting in the development and implementation of nationally recognized learning programs in schools in Illinois and Indiana. He is responsible for the day-to-day administration tasks of Teachers On Call.
Co-founder Diane Chapas is also a graduate of Indiana State University, with a degree in Speech and Hearing Therapy, and worked as a social worker with Head Start program in Illinois. She is responsible for parent communication and interviewing of teachers who want to join the dynamic team of dedicated tutors. She devotes many volunteer hours to community-based organizations that support educational opportunities for women.
