In celebration of the program’s 14th anniversary, the St. Joseph Insight tutors will hold their annual Fall Fundraiser on Thursday, Nov. 15, from 6:30-9:30 p.m., at Joe’s, 940 W. Weed St.
For a $30 contribution ($35 at the door), Insight guests will be treated to an evening of fun and philanthropy featuring three hours of all-you-can-handle food and drink and exciting raffle and silent auction prizes, including airline tickets, hotel get-a-ways and gift certificates to some of Chicago’s most popular restaurants.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to underwrite the cost of the Insight program, which pairs children from the Near North Side with young professionals living and working in Chicago. Contributions also will be put toward enriching the curriculum by supporting fine arts and physical education and facilitating the purchase of books and other resources.
“For the past 14 years, the Insight program has brought young adults from throughout Chicago together with inner city children of all faiths to assist in scholastic achievement, interpersonal development and social growth,” said Sister Stephanie Schmidts, director of the Insight program. “The tutors desire to provide the students with the best educational environment possible, and this event plays an important part each year in supporting that endeavor.”
