Gordon Tech High School, a Catholic college prep school located at 3633 N. California Ave., will hold the eighth annual President’s Dinner and Award Ceremony on Friday, Nov. 9, at 7 p.m., at the Cafe La Cave in Des Plaines.
The President’s Award is bestowed upon individuals who demonstrate the Gospel values according to the Catholic tradition in the spirit of the Congregation of the Resurrection, and who have made significant contributions to the betterment of society.
Rev. John P. Smyth, of Des Plaines, will be honored for his dedication and humanitarian efforts on behalf of the neglected children of the greater Chicago area. Wayne A. Johnson, chief investigator from the Chicago Crime Commission, will be honored for his dedication to providing a safe community for the citizens of Chicago and their children. Tom Winiecki, of Des Plaines, will be recognized at the event for his years of service to Gordon Tech.
