A man was raped around 2 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, in the 600 block of W. Roscoe St. After drinking, he entered his apartment building and noticed the offender, a white man, 35-40, 6’ to 6’2”, 250 to 300 lb., with a goatee and wearing a short black leather coat and black leather gloves. The victim put his key into his lock and heard the offender say. “You, faggot, where the ____ is Billy?” The offender took out a large knife and forced the victim into the apartment, then into the rear bedroom.
When the victim resisted, the enraged offender threw him into a glass door, cutting his hands and head. At this point the victim stopped struggling and was raped at knifepoint. Afterwards the rapist told the victim he would kill him if he moved, then fled out the front door.
In other news, police have arrested a 19-year-old Homewood man and charged him with the rape of a DePaul student in her apartment in the 2300 block of N. Kenmore Ave. on Dec. 30. DNA evidence left at the scene of the crime matched that of Michael Bradley, who was on parole after a conviction for residential burglary in 2003. According to police reports, the offender entered the apartment, raped the woman, and stole her laptop, credit card and ATM card. The ATM card was immediately used at two ATMs and a bank nearby; the credit card was used at a local restaurant at the same time a car registered to Bradley was on the premises. For the Dec. 30 crime, Bradley has been charged with aggravated sexual assault, one count of home invasion, and one count of burglary. He has also been charged with three other burglaries last fall. |
