Ralph Covert, co-creator of Emerald City Theatre Company's recent holiday musical "A Nutcracker Christmas," has been nominated for a Grammy Award. "Green Gorilla, Monster and Me," the latest in Covert's wildly popular "Ralph's World" CDs for kids on Chicago's Mini Fresh label, is in the running for Best Musical Album for Children. Other contenders include Tom Chapin's "Some Assembly Required," and "Songs from the Neighborhood: The Music of Sesame Street" by various artists.
Covert, a native Chicagoan who also leads the popular local rock band The Bad Examples, will learn if he won music's most coveted award when the 48th Annual Grammy Awards are broadcast live from Los Angeles from 7 to 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, on CBS. |
