“The 12th Annual Small Print Show and Holiday Open House,” featuring small printworks and artist-made gifts by members of the Chicago Printmakers Collaborative and invited guests, will be held at the Workshop Print Gallery from Dec. 8 through Dec. 29 with an opening reception on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 8 and 9, from noon to 7 p.m.
The exhibition highlights a variety of print media, including etching, lithography, woodcut and monotype. Traditional as well as experimental approaches to printmaking will be featured by approximately 30 artists, including Maggie Tate, Kim Laurel, Carrie Iverson, Debora Wood, Duffy O’Connor, Jeff Sippel, Margaret Buchen, Anatole Upart, Deborah Maris Lader, Joel Rendon, Nichole Maury, and Sena Pierce. Most featured artwork in this exhibition will be for sale at less than $100.
During the opening reception, you’ll find a variety of artist-made gift items for sale, including frames, blank books, boxes, jewelry, greeting cards, hats, Polaroid transfers and much more. The festivities will be enhanced by music, great food, and a spirited, fun atmosphere you won’t want to miss! It’s entertaining just to check out what happens when a whole bunch of crazed printmakers are asked to bring a dish to share for the table. . . . .
