Thresholds, Illinois’ oldest and largest psychiatric recovery center, hosts “Young at Heart,” its 2002 winter benefit, at the Chicago Children’s Museum at Navy Pier on Saturday, Jan. 26, 6:30 - 10:30 p.m. This is one of the few events held at the museum for guests of all ages: families, singles, young and old.
Guests will enjoy exclusive use of the museum and its interactive exhibits, including the opening night of the new Body Odyssey exhibit. Other activities include a raffle, silent auction of luxury goodies for kids and adults, interactive games, dancing to the tunes of a disc jockey, and a magic show. A complimentary dinner buffet with beer, wine and soft drinks will be offered.
For 40 years, Thresholds has helped thousands of people with mental illness live with dignity and independence. Proceeds will benefit the Thresholds Young Adult Program, which provides specialized services for adolescents with serious psychiatric illness. The Thresholds Young Adult Program offers therapy, vocational training and placement, housing, and its own accredited high school to serve special needs.
Tickets are $50 for adults ($60 at the door), $25 for children ($30 at the door). Children under five enjoy free admission. Call Dana at (773) 472-4581 for tickets.
