Arun Gandhi, fifth grandson of India’s late spiritual leader, Mohandas Karamchand “Mahatma” Gandhi, will share intergenerational words of peace at a forum hosted by Crossroads Center, on Wednesday, Feb. 20, from 7 - 8:15 p.m., 700 W. Adams St.
In 1946, 12-year-old Arun lived with his grandfather for a year and a half. During that time,. Arun absorbed lessons from Gandhi that have formed the quest of his adult years. On Feb. 20, Arun will share memories of his grandfather, as well as his personal views of nonviolence as a means for international peace, in a presentation called “Lessons I Learned From My Grandfather.”
The evening with Arun Gandhi begins at 5:30 p.m. with an ecumenical prayer service followed by dinner at 6:15 p.m. The cost of dinner and the lecture is $12 members/$15 nonmembers, and requires a prepaid 48-hour advance reservation. The lecture only (no dinner) is $5, and walk-ins are welcome.
