Jean Albano Gallery announces a solo exhibition which will feature lenticular lens photographs by Linda Girvin. The show opens in Friday, June 7 and will run through Saturday, July 4. The gallery will host a reception for the artist on Friday, June 7 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 215 W. Superior St.
Lenticular lens photography is a unique medium which allows Linda Girvin to create the illusion of movement within a single photograph. In her pieces, six to ten images of a subject taken at different times are exposed onto a single piece of lenticular lens film. As the viewer moves, the images change, offering chance combinations and juxtapositions. Girvin's photographs address a range of subjects, from people to flowers, which are all unified by the delicate exploration of the many subtle, and complex layers that comprise our perception of time and memory.
Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., and Saturday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., or by appointment. For further information, please contact Jean Broday or Julie Farstad at (312) 440-0770.
