"People are looking for a more natural health care. They want to enable the body to heal itself," Dr. Paul Marando told Inside. Dr. Marando offers chiropractic at Physicians Plus Ltd., 4725 N. Damen Ave. "We treat injuries from car accidents and injuries that occur at home. We also offer relief from headaches, chronic pain, backaches, carpal tunnel syndrome, athletic injuries and more," he added.
Dr. Marando has X-ray equipment right on site. The chiropractic treatment is a very gentle movement to the joints, "very specific to what the problem is," he explained. While a new patient may be apprehensive about chiropractic, Dr. Marando says patients describe a feeling of relief and relaxation from the adjustment.
In addition to having a doctorate in chiropractic medicine, Dr. Marando is certified in acupuncture, foot supportive orthotics, spinal disk treatment, whiplash management and personal training. His training enables him to help patients with nutrition, exercise and weight loss, as well.
Even as a youth, Dr. Marando knew he wanted to become a chiropractor. His father and his godfather were both chiropractors in Canada. "I watched people crawl in and walk out," he says. "I knew that I wanted to be able to help people with chiropractic too."
