Chicago's award-wining Imagination Theater, a 36-year old touring, educational, social issues theater company, will hold auditions for actors and actresses to join IT's 2002-2003 Ensemble. General auditions will be held on: July 9, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.; July 10, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.; July 15, 6 - 10 p.m., and July 16, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Callbacks will be held on July 18, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Prepare two contrasting monologues, not to exceed four minutes total. One monologue must be "child friendly." Be prepared for cold readings and/or improv. All auditions will take place at Imagination Theater, 1801 W. Byron St., #2-S.
Auditionees must have flexible, daytime availability at least three days per week (Monday through Friday), be strong in improvisation, be a quick study, be versatile, and work well with people of all ages. The group is seeking ensemble-minded individuals able to work in a variety of settings.
Those selected must have reliable transportation, and be willing to drive to and from shows in the Chicago/suburban area. All transportation is reimbursed. There is pay for all performances. Training begins the week of Aug. 12, with performances running Sept. 9 - June 15. Ensemble members will share in performing over 600 presentations and workshops throughout the year. Minorities are strongly encouraged to audition.
