Dana Wolf-Pulido, 38, of the 2300 block of W. Melrose, St. was pronounced dead by strangulation by Chicago’s medical examiner on Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 11:35 p.m.
Earlier in the day, Wolf-Pulido’s estranged husband was contacted by the school that their children attended. His wife did not pick them up, which was “very unusual” according to the husband. He took the children to a Cubs game and called his estranged wife a number of times but there was no answer.
The police were called to investigate. When police arrived, no one answered the door. The responding officers looked through the window and saw a woman laying on the couch. She did not move even after repeated banging on the door.
The police found the door unlocked without any signs of forcible entry.
The case was turned over to the Violent Crimes Unit and Area Three detectives for further investigation.
