The extensive Lincoln Square renovation seems to have sparked a fire sale of property on Lincoln Ave.
The building at 4614 N. Lincoln Ave., including the Davis Theater, 12 apartments and six stores, has sold for $1.4 million. When this same building changed hands a few years ago, community furor kept the theater from disappearing. The new owner just gave a seven-year lease to the Davis Theater.
Another done deal that closed last month was the building at 4514 N. Lincoln Ave. that went for $599,000. The 2800 sq.ft. retail space was formerly Mailboxes, Etc. and includes a three bedroom rental unit above.
The former Winner’s bar, 4530 N. Lincoln Ave., with two three bedroom rental units closed for $800,000.
A sale is pending for 4711 N. Lincoln Ave., formerly the North Town appliance store. The 7,600 sq. ft. one story building listed for $1.249 million and was advertised as a great development opportunity.
Lincoln Square’s landmark Delicatessen Meyer business, 4750 N. Lincoln Ave., is listed for $550,000, or $1,150,000 if you throw in the building.
The Grecian Taverna, 4535 N. Lincoln Ave., is listed for $1.2 million.
Veronic Beauty Salon, 4755 N. Lincoln Ave., is asking $27,000 for the opportunity to take over the business and inventory on existing lease terms.
Finally, at least for now, the two story Salamander retail store building at 4762 N. Lincoln Ave. is listed for $750,000.
In addition, the storefronts that once housed Laurie’s Planet of Sound, 4703 N. Lincoln Ave., Enisa’s European Bakery, 4703 N. Lincoln Ave., True Value Hardware, 4655-57 N. Lincoln Ave., and Lincoln Grocery, 4605-07 N. Lincoln Ave. remain closed.
A new retail Chopping Block store will be moving into Lincoln Square, it has been confirmed. With all this turmoil, it is nice to know Lincoln Square will add a dash of French culinary words to enhance its reputation as “A Touch of Europe” in Lincoln Square.
