An armed robbery of a bank occurred in the 2400 block of N. Halsted St. on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 9:27 a.m.
A black male in his 40s, 6’1” and 160 lb., wearing a dark golf hat, leather coat, brown gloves, and beige pants, walked up to a teller’s window and said, “Hello, everybody.”
The teller was in the process of training an employee when the offender gave her a note. The note stated, “Don’t try to be heroes, there is people with weapons, you are being timed, you have 15 seconds to comply,” according to the memory of the teller. The teller tried to keep the note but the offender took it back.
The teller took an undisclosed amount of cash and put it on the counter. “Hundreds too,” the offender said, taking the money and placing it in a brown briefcase. The offender exited the bank and fled in an unknown direction. |
