The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) named eight St. Scholastica Academy seniors as Illinois State Scholars this year. The Illinois State Scholar Program recognized Kristine Cabael (West Ridge), Christina David (Lincolnwood), Deepali Doddi (West Ridge), Aileen Kim (Albany Park), Cassandra Lancki (Rogers Park), Nicola Lancki (Rogers Park), Mary Nikezic (West Ridge) and Sara Prieto (Park Ridge) for their outstanding academic achievement at St. Scholastica Academy.
Students ranking in the top 10 percent of the state’s high school graduating seniors with outstanding ACT and/or SAT test score results are named Illinois State Scholars. While the program does not provide a monetary award, the designation as a state scholar can be added to applications for college admissions and scholarships.
Earlier this fall, the National Merit Scholarship Corporation named Deepali Doddi a Commended Student in the 2003 National Merit Scholarship Program. She scored among the top five percent of more than one million students who entered the 2003 competition by taking the 2001 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
