Due to the CTA’s planned renovation of the Fullerton el station, the future of the local business Demon Dogs, located under the el tracks, has been up in the air. The CTA planned to close it Feb. 28. However, those who love the fries and hot dogs—as well as more than 20 employees—can celebrate the extension granted to the business. The next court date is Aug. 11.
The business, which has charmed and fed the community for 15 years, hopes to occupy a space within the renovated station. Owner Pete Schivarelli has a petition for patrons to sign in support, and the Wrightwood Neighbors Association has encouraged the CTA to work out a compromise in order to keep Demon Dogs in the community.
