A musician and a founding member of Old Town Triangle Association, Edith Roesler Gunterman died Feb. 3 of complications from heart surgery. She earned a bachelor’s degree at Kansas City Conservatory, then married Ernest W. Guntermann in 1940 and moved to Chicago. They purchased a home in Old Town a few years later, and joined with others in 1948 to begin the Old Town Triangle Association to improve the community by reducing crime, promoting recreation and education, and connecting neighbors. She strongly endorsed the annual Old Town Art Fair, sponsored by the Association.
Services will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, March 7, at the Old Town Triangle Association, 1763 N. North Park Ave., and from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 8, in St. Paul United Church of Christ, 2335 N. Orchard St. |
